Hilltops

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with The Library Challenge. This is my first post on The Library Challenge. Well, here is my card for today, enjoy.

The sky is an iridescent green with wisps of black acrylic paint. The mountains are smudged white ink and colored pencils. the 'moon' was stamped and embossed in green. I thought the setting needed to be magical and unworldly, like The Hobbit.
This is the card out of the light.
The emphasis is now on the mountains, not the sky.
I was inspired to frame the scene because of the frame on the cover art.
Theirs is much more detailed showing their written language (if my memory serves correctly), in contrast, mine is a simple black. I liked the idea of a frame.
Here is the card in the light. I like the way the light shines on the green sky and the detail of the moon is now highlighted.

Challenges Entered:
The Library Challenge: Challenge #2- The Hobbit
"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort." - J.R.R. Tolkien - The Hobbit I read this first in the 2nd grade. I love Tolkein.

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

You are a Gem

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with Freshly Made Sketches, AAA Cards, and The Paper Players. The sketch, technique, and themes inspired this one card. Well, here is my card for today, enjoy.

The splotch behind the gem was done by sprinkling Brusho's over the cardstock area and then applied water one drop at a time. I had to make sure the water would splash to get the desired effect.
The sentiment consists of two different stamp sets, one by Technique Tuesday and other Stampin' Up!. I think it turned out very well.
This is the iridescent gem showing its
spectrum of colors.
Challenges Entered:
Freshly Made Sketches: FMS328
AAA Cards: CAS Game: #111- Use only 1/3
The Paper Players: PP385 CAS Challenge- Rainbow

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Ombre Love

Hello Friends!

For today I am playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch and AAA Cards! Here is my card for today, enjoy!
The ombre sentiment was leftover from another card I made a couple of days ago. It was laying on my craft table and thought it would be perfect.

I believe this simple wave stamp brings the entire design together.
Also, I think it brings out the ombre effect with its
lines weaving back and forth through the ombre.

Magical Rainbow

Hello Friends!

For today I am playing along with Paper Craft Crew, Just Us Girls, and Tic Tac Toe Challenges! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

When I was a little girl, my room's decor was ceiling to floor rainbow!
Even as a teenager, I kept the rainbow theme. So, it was no stretch to create a card with all these wonderful AND sparkly colors.

I am low on thank you notes and needed to replenish my stash. What better way to thank someone with lots of color.
The strips were a perfect way to use up my
ever so growing scrap paper.
Challenges Entered:
Paper Craft Crew: PCC283- Sketch Challenge
Tic Tac Toe Challenge: #tttc038
I chose Rainbow/Sparkle/Die Cuts
Just Us Girls: Trend Week #431- Mythical or Magical

Super Thank You

Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with City Crafter Challenge. I always like the idea of being a hero but in my day-to-day, I feel more like a human trying to get through the day. Then I cook dinner and all is right in the world. There is a certain satisfaction feeding your family. It is then I do feel like a hero. Anyway, here is my card for today, enjoy!

This was probably the easiest card to create. The city backdrop and sky rays are actually from designer paper. All I had to do was make the shield! Easy-peasy!
I tend to forget that I have more paper than any one person should ever own (I am sure you can relate). I always seem to forget about my designer paper. Well, not this time!! The paper helped me save a ton of time.
I did, however, create the shield. You know the one's superheroes hold to deflect any evil beams headed their way. I thought it was a perfect addition to anyone who has made a difference. This card will be on standby when the occasion presents itself.
 Challenges Entered:
City Crafter Challenge: Week 402- Be your own HERO!

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

Abstract Panel

Hello Friends!

I, unfortunately, missed the CASology challenge but not all was lost because I had The Color Throwdown as an inspiration too! Here is my card for today, enjoy!
I was so inspired by the photo that was shown at The Color Throwdown. I felt compelled to try my hand at abstract art. I took a large sheet of CS and started splattering, dipping, spraying, etc. The color comes from acrylic paint, Distress Inks (Lucky Clover and Mowed Lawn) and lots of water.
Instead of a white base, I thought I would be a bit different and use kraft paper as its base. The color works with the Throwdown plus it allows the abstract to pop!
The abstract has a crackled glazed finish over top.
It makes for fantastic texture both visually and texturally.
 Challenges Entered:
The Color Throwdown: ctd483
