For today I will be entering Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown. Unfortunately, this card was made to use immediately. Here is my card for today, enjoy!
Using neutral colors around the sunset really allows it to pop. The sunset seems to be perfect for a sympathy card. |
Because so many coworkers are signing this card I have decided to make it a bit bigger (approx. 4.5" x 8") to accommodate multiple signatures and messages. |
The sun and the sky color are very striking. I feel this is due to all the surrounding neutrals and the jet blackness of the silhouette image and foreground. |

As stated above I had to use this card immediately. It is a double-edged sword when creating such a card. One, the person lost a loved one and for that it is heartbreaking. In this case, my coworker's brother died very suddenly. I can't imagine his pain and sense of loss. With that said it brings me to my second point. It is nice to know this card was made with heart, not American Greetings. I only hope it will bring him strength and maybe some comfort. I know none of you know my coworker but if you could kindly say a prayer for him and his family that would be greatly appreciated.
Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.
All the best,
Shawna

What a beautiful sympathy card! I love how you've created the sun and sky. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
Hello Shawna,
Your card sypmathy is very great. I love this nostalgic scene. She is beautiful and sad. Ideal to express unity with someone who has lost someone. This is one of the most beautiful sympathy cards I've ever seen, Shawna!
