For today I am going to be playing along with The Paper Players and Sunday Stamps. I saw this stamp at our local outlet store and I just blew up in laughter. So, now it is your time for a bit of a chuckle. Here is my card for today, enjoy!
This sentiment is actually one stamp. I thought breaking it up would be a bit funnier. The front of the card doesn't really get to the point but then you open it up and that is when the giggles happen. |
The cherry background was hand-stamped and then layered with vellum. The vellum works to knock down the brightness of the background allowing the delectable cupcake to become center stage. |
I decided to flip the sketch because all the elements looked a bit cramped vertically. Flipping the sketch made all the difference. |

Super cute, and definitely a laugh, lol. I like how you broke it up - gotta wait for the punch line! Gorgeous and yummy coloring, too! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!
Great card, Shawna! I got a good giggle out of it too and I can see why you snapped up this stamp. The vellum layer is really clever in the way it tones down the paper behind. The big wide, white border is great - it keeps the whole design clean and uncluttered. Lovely card! Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players again.
Great card, Shawna! I love the sentiment, and you're right, it's funnier with the second half on the inside. I also love how you softened the patterned paper with vellum. Thanks so much for playing along at The Paper Players!
I laughed out loud at this card!
Funny! I love it. (Your card is pretty cute too.)
Yes, it is quite funny with the sentiment cut apart! No guilt now! ha-ha! Great coloring and love the bright, bold colors! Thanks so much for playing along at Sunday Stamps! :D
