Here's to a creative 2018
And with that out of the way, I would like to welcome all of you to TheGrandStampede. We start this new year with a few challenges that I will be posting. I have been busy behind the scenes even though I haven't posted in two weeks. So here is the first challenge of the year at House of Cards! Before I get to the challenge here is my card for today, enjoy!

| Mixed media seems to be a creative challenge for me. But in this case, I think I did pretty well. The rose was done some time ago and I put it on the back burner for another project. After several attempts at a card I settled down with this design. |

| I used embossing paste colored with acrylic paint on top of a painted panel that was done, again, some time ago. The wooden hearts were painted a pale yellow color. |

| I thought the sentiment was perfect for New Year's Day. The string of bling on the bottom added shine and sparkle. |
On a side note: For those of you who know me you will know I am a big Buffalo Bills fan! They made the playoffs for the first time since 1999!

Lovely card and with some great texture too, I must try colouring my paste and see if I can make something as good as this.

I love the pretty shading in your rose, Shawna! Just beautiful! Since MY team, the Green Bay Packers, are NOT in the playoffs, I will be happy to root for the Bills this year! Hoping you AND the Bills have a terrific 2018!
